Cameron has been drumming since the age of nine, in this time he has competed and won various solo tenor drumming contests around New Zealand.  He is currently the leader of the Canterbury Caledonian Grade 1 tenor drum section, he composes all of the mid section scores and choreographs all of the flourishing to coincide with the side drum scores and to enhance the bagpipe melody.

In his first year with the Canterbury Caledonian Pipe Band he led his tenor corps to win the National Mid-Section Trophy at the Grade 1 level, the first time in Canterbury's history.  He also led them in Scotland at the World Pipe Band Championships, again the first time in the band's long history.

Cameron is a very passionate and enthusiastic tenor drum instructor, and currently educates at the St Andrews College Pipe Band in Christchurch.
